BHL’s existence depends on the financial support of its patrons. Help us keep this free resource alive!
The Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL) is the world’s largest open access digital library for biodiversity literature and archives. Headquartered at the Smithsonian Libraries and Archives in Washington, D.C., BHL operates as a worldwide consortium of natural history, botanical, research, and national libraries working together to digitize the natural history literature held in their collections and make it freely available for open access as part of a global “biodiversity community.”

Y en otras lenguas, además del ucraniano, ¿cuándo van a publicar? Hay al menos 20 conflictos armados activos, resulta un tanto discriminatoria la actitud hacia uno de ellos, ¿y los demás?
Thank you for using the Biodiversity Heritage Library and for your input on the Ukrainian collection. You are correct that there are many armed conflicts across the world. There are reports of national unrest and new armed conflicts on a regular basis. Every one of these tragic situations impacts the lives, identities, and national heritage of the people forced to bear them. The war in Ukraine is not unique to this tragedy. As BHL helps to facilitate the institutional priorities of our consortium partners, we supported the USDA National Agricultural Library in their effort to create the Ukrainian collection, as we have with the creation of other unique collections in the past. The Smithsonian Institution also receives and responds to requests for support from other U.S. federal agencies. Though we do not currently have plans to develop other thematic subcollections, we have shared your feedback among relevant teams within the Institution. Thank you again.
